Betfair's (AvB) market test.

I suspect most of you have not failed to notice that there is a new type of bet available on betfair.com .

This is called (AvB) and is between two horses that Betfair have appeared to have randomly selected from the main race.

The idea is you can back (or lay) the selection which you feel can get a better finishing position than the other.

I feel this is one of those new markets that betfair.com keeps coming up with that are going to be difficult to beat. I actual feel think the prices make this market far less attractive than the place market, but the point you only have two horses to deal with should make it easier to predict...should!

So do we back or lay or both.

Well as this is laybetting.com I think we should lay and so today (04/09/2006) I have picked:

15.50 Newcastle, Jumeirah Scarer V Rossin Gold

We test lay Rossin Gold for 2.82.

Result:Jumeirah Scarer was a NR so the market was cancelled.

Lay Border Artist 2.58

Result: we would have won with Border Artist.

15:10 Kemp (AvB), Finsby v Nusoor

My test suggestion is lay Nusoor @ 2.98

Result: We would have won when we laid Nusoor and he came 14th, being beaten by Finsby who came 3rd.

My test suggestion is lay Vanadium @ 2.76

Result: We won again on betfair.com (AvB) test when Breaking Shadow beat Vanadium to the line.

My test suggestion is lay Celtic Mill 2.64

Result: We lost on betfair.com (AvB) test when Celtic Mill beat Orien to first place.

Folk (AvB) 11th Sep - 14:20 Bahami v DeeJay

My Test Lay is Dee Jay Wells @ 4.55

To get the selections I am just using pointers like RPR and Topspeed so this really does need refining.

Result: We won on the (AvB) test when Dee Jay Wells came 6th behind Bahami who came 3rd.
