Dear [[FIRSTNAME]]

End of August update.

I have been spending quite a bit of time updating the member's area this month and have made some of the changes I was hoping to, but not all of them.

I have changed the staking system to reflect my latest thinking which is to use a set percentage of your bank which I feel should be 0.5% to 2% maximum.

You could adjust this to the odds that you are betting at but I am not sure there would be any need, anyway you can test how it would have affected your profits either on a month by month basis or (my next change) showing the tips as a continuous run, from when they were first introduced into the service.

There are a couple of things I still need to sort out, the first is that I really don't think you should carry on using the lay ladder past two losing tips (unless you have a massive bank compared to your stake), but the system is doing just this, as happened with the AW system and Quite Sure (V4 during testing).

I think the best option is after your second loser take any loses you have had and divide them by 3.

Why 3?

Because the average winning run for these systems is around 3.75 (v4 especially), so we should be able to get everything back sooner or later, within this 3 wins window.

So let's just say we are still owed £41.25, divide this by 3 which is 13.75 and add 1.0% of half your current bank (as per the staking plan). So say our bank was now at £450.00 we half that and take 1.0% giving us 2.48 add this to 13.75 and our stake is £16.23.

During the next few races you may hit the odd loser, but if you do then just add those losses to whatever you are owed and then again divide by 3 adding 1.1% of half of your bank.

Sooner or later you will hit that win of 3 or more and get back everything you lost.

You could of course split the stake into 4 or even 5 knowing we do have winning runs this long, but 3 works for me, I don't like waiting too long for my money!

So the second thing I want to change is the staking plan to reflect a 3 race recovery plan after two losers in a row, which I hope will not happen that often.

I plan to spend a lot of time working on bank and stake plans over the coming months because I feel they are important as the tips, but I get a feeling people take more interest in the selections than the plan they use to get the most from them.

Last order of business before the monthly roundups is that I will be having my second annual holiday in September and so there will be no tips for 1 week, starting the 12th of September.

I am actually going away (sailing) this time, so I am afraid there is no way I can do the daily tips.

End of month roundup.

Since we have only been using maidens with the Flat system I think it has performed very well, admitably this month is not as good as last but we are still only talking 3 losers and none of them were much above 3/1. One thing to note is that I have removed all past results from the end of June in the member's area, because I want to show only the maiden results now.

Won = 10 Lost = 3 Non Runners = 0, Average Odds = 5.22

Using system V4 with AW selections we only had 5 tips, but we won on all of them and the average price has come down to 6.33 which is pretty close to 5/1.

Won = 5 Lost = 0 Non Runners = 0, Average Odds = 6.33

V4 (Quite Sure) had 17 wins out of 21 at average odds of 5.13 just over the 4/1, which I find very pleasing, this is slightly worse than last month but it is well inside the 5/1 limit.

Lay Bet a day performed far better this month with only 3 losing selection out 20. The average price is still a little high but at least it is winning. I am going to continue showing the results for this tip for the time being.

Won = 17 Lost = 3 Non Runners = 1, Average Odds = 7.58

I am working on a new Jump System which will eventually place the one we use here, but for the time being we will run with this version, but the new one should certainly improve the odds!

Won = 6 Lost = 1 Non Runners = 1, Average Odds = 6.83

LTO was a rollercoaster ride this month with 16 losers but this tip still makes money using the staking plan and the odds tend to be so low that you can actually take 3 losers in a row without losing your bank. Using just 0.5% of your bank you will have still made money this month (using the lay ladder), I will admit though that it is hard going!

Won = 29 Lost = 16 Non Runners = 4, Average Odds = 4.41

The Other (Test tip) hasn't really worked out how I would have liked although it has had it's fair share of winners and at average odds of 4.25 can not be called a total disaster. From tomorrow I want to test a new idea I have been working on, again trying to keep the odds low (below 3/1).

Until tomorrow.

Hava a good day's racing.
