News Letter - June |
Well I suppose the big one was
the Money Programme feature on betting exchanges featuring none other than Raj
Patel from Losers
into Winners.
If you missed the programme or wish to read a bit
more about Raj himself then
here
is a very useful link for you.
It was quite interesting to see
that the bookies were so upset mainly because they couldnt influence the
SPs so much anymore although their argument was based more on betting
tax!
Somebody forgot to mention that we to have to pay a percentage of
our winnings over to the exchanges, so in fact we are paying to bet and that
money is being taxed.
Still thats an argument that will rage on
for a while longer I expect.
**New Product**
As you can
probably guess from the title this system looks to maiden races to find
Lay of the day.
Written by Jon from the Bismarx
Midas Maiden Method comes in the form of a downloadable Ebook
that will only work on PCs.
Maidens are the first choice for
people to pick on for a Lay bet, but you may be surprised to find
out that they produce a high percentage of winning favourites and I know last
month and this month (May June 2004) that figure has been around the 60%
mark!
My only gripe about the Ebook is the navigation, I like to see a
standard HTML type navigation in products, but Jon prefers you to use the
Back and Next buttons at the top, I know I am being
silly!
The Midas Maiden Method uses a 4 rule selection process
that eliminates many of the maidens you will find on a days racing and then
looks at the remainder giving you a further 2 rules to use against them to get
down to one selection.
Does it work?

A total profit of £1640 for May.
The system is really easy to follow and uses the Racingpost to help with the
selection process.
I like the way Jon has used several examples to show
you how to use the selection process and the further pointers to look out for,
including helpful graphics.
Jon has made the product as easy to follow
as possible and included a staking plan that although I use the same one myself
is not suited to everyone.
Although going by past results I do think
that level staking will probably suffice.
Overal:
Midas Maidens is a well written product that does what it
says it does!
Who is if for?
If you own my own my own lay
betting system you probably dont need this one but if not and you want an
easy system to follow then I would rate this above many of the others out
there. v It gets 4 out of 5 from me.

month**
I have been playing around with a lot of ideas this month
especially to improve the strike rate of my Lay Betting
System.
When I first started to lay I was
probably like a lot of people who thought that as about 1 in 3 favourites lose,
it must be real easy to pick one!
But the reality is a little
different and although you could probably take a chance on a handicap favourite
at 9/1 you know the liability makes it extremely risky.
So finding
races where the liability is low but the chances of the favourite losing are
high is the skill of the day!
I have tried a number of different
selection ideas which are reflected in the latest version of The Lay Betting
System and there is no doubt that the improvements have been
exceptional, but I still want to see if I can improve it some more.
The
problem is that I do not want to make it over complicated, otherwise people
will not use the system, which would be a waste of their money!
So I
have been tinkering around using one or two extra pieces of information added
to the selection process, but at the same time I am trying to make it easier to
spot the days selection, especially where you can have 2 or 3 races that
on paper look to have an equal chance.
I have now come up with a points
system that you quickly run over the days selection and then it is easy
to see the final lay of the day.
The last 3 days I have
used this system the favourite has lost!
I will be refining it this
week and then will send the final details out to the owners of the Lay Betting
System.
**Other Stuff**
If you are a member of my
forum then you will probably already know that apak24 has been trying a new
system lately, that isnt that bad. I thought I would share the details
here.

You need the Daily Mail
On many of the meetings you will see something
similar to this: FAVS:0120210212
0 Means that none of the top 3 horses
in the betting won the race. 1 Means the favourite won 2 Means the
second favourite won 3 Means the 3 Favourite won
This actually
shows you the results from the last ten years of the race.
NOTE: Not
all races will have this and some will not have as many entries.
The
races that qualify will have at least 7 numbers prefably 10.
Only
choose the races where the favourite has only won 1 time, you may stretch this
to 2 but I would wait until you are happy with the results.
So this
qualifies
